Bali still uses and preserves the Balinese calendar which has a cycle of 210 days per year. However, due to its openness to external cultures, other calendar systems like the Gregorian, (Arabian) Hijriah and Chinese calendar also become a daily reference for Balinese community. Even the (Indian) Saka calendar is used by the community to determine its New Year named Nyepi festivity (Day of Silence) falling in March, based on Gregorian calendar.
On that account, all management and staff of Bali Travel News would like to wish all Christians using the Gregorian calendar and celebrating their holy event on 25 December a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. At the end, hopefully you’ll find reading Bali Travel News interesting reading!
